Austral Clothes Hoists Pty. Ltd. is the result of an enterprising business initiative by 3 people, dating back to 1987. Dennis Skerry, John Anderson and Walter Genesin combined forces to build Austral’s first manufacturing plant in White St., Mordialloc. Austral’s main objective has always been to manufacture the best quality Australian Made Clothes Lines possible. Initially, much thought and testing was done to ensure the structural designs and components would survive Australia’s harsh climate.
Enduring relationships have been built with many Australian Companies to ensure Austral’s components are manufactured to our own Specifications.
Austral’s slogan ‘You Can Trust Australian Made’ is just that. Austral Clothes Hoists manufactures a full range of Clothes Lines and a small range of Mailboxes to ensure a high level of quality control. If there was ever a problem, we would want to know when it happens, not months later after a ship has docked!
Austral’s market share has continued to grow steadily over the years. Austral Clothes Hoists is now the only Australian Company manufacturing a full range of products in Australia. Continued customer support for Australian Made clothes lines saw Austral move to larger premises in Hammond Rd. Dandenong, Victoria just a few years ago.
Austral is thrilled our Australian made Clothes Lines help reduce your carbon footprint in a number of ways. Our components are manufactured in Australia, so less energy is consumed in their production than, if Austral was to import components, or the finished products from overseas. All our structural components are manufactured using Galvabond steel, which means our products are strong and will last a very long time. The longer a product lasts, the smaller the carbon footprint of that product over its lifetime.
